What will I learn?

By the end of the programme, you will be able to assess your skills, knowledge and behaviours as a coach and mentor. You will know how to manage the coaching or mentoring process within an organisational context, including being able to plan, deliver and review your coaching and mentoring.

We do this via a focus on the fundamentals of coaching – from skills and techniques to approaches. We your confidence as a coach and mentor, something that is an essential attribute for managers. Our intention is always to give participants a solid foundation of coaching and mentoring knowledge and to nurture coaching and mentoring instincts, enabling you to support a variety of people in a variety of effective ways.

Part of our programme’s success in doing this comes from the ILM 5’s attention to communication. By learning how to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics and by actively listening to others, our participants learn how to adapt their communication styles to fit diverse audiences and situations.

How will I learn?

ILM 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring combines the practical application of professional competency with the rigour of regulated qualifications. This is ideal for those learning whilst juggling a job and other responsibilities. Generally, this programme is a 5-day tutor course with the need for 18 hours of coaching/mentoring practice to be accrued usually over 6 months. It is enough hours to develop a solid practice, but not too many to make it burdensome. It requires a written assessment which you will be supported and guided through by Pro-Noctis tutors.
